Here we are talking about some of the must see places in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The pink city of Jaipur was once the capital of the kings of the country. With no less force it is today the capital of the princely state of Rajasthan. This colorful and impressive city is located at a distance of 260 km from the capital of India. One of the best hotels for your trip to Rajasthan is the Mandawa Haveli Hotel. It is close to some of the surprisingly interesting monuments found here, such as the Hawa Mahal, Albert Hall, Fort Amer, and the City Palace. Both tourists and locals appreciate the advantages of the city, such as local attractions and shopping. Some of these tourist attractions are:
Hawa mahal
In
Hindi, "Hawa" means air and "Mahal" means a magnificent
mansion. In fact, it is a palatial façade adorned with nine hundred and
fifty-three windows and niches of inconceivable delicacy. It is surprising to
know that behind the facade there is no building, only a maze of corridors and
rest areas. In the past, these were used by the royal women of Zenana. They
used it to get a glimpse of the city and see processions through the streets
below. The façade has been cleverly structured to catch the wind and is
therefore known as the "Palazzo dei Venti".
The city palace
It is
the royal residence of the former ruling family of Jaipur. The palace is
located in the center of the city, it covers one seventh of the city and is
surrounded by the high wall called Sarahad. The architectural beauty of this
place is attributed to the elements of Rajput beauty here accompanied by
English linear planning. The royal family of Jaipur still resides here in the
section called the peacock courtyard and is therefore no longer open to the
public.
Amer Fort
Amer
Fort is one of the most important Rajput cities and was the ancient capital of
Kacchwala Rajputs in the 12th century. It is a group of fortresses from the
17th century that occupies a steep hill.
Albert Hall Museum
This is
a museum in the middle of the Ram Niwas garden in Jaipur. It was built in 1876
on the occasion of the visit of the Prince of Wales to the city of Jaipur. The
sandstone and marble building is in the Indo-Islamic Saracenic style. The
museum contains an excellent collection of paintings, decorative art objects,
sculptures, natural history displays, an Egyptian mummy, and a famous Persian
garden carpet. It also contains a beautiful observatory called Jantar Mantar.
